Scientific research aims to be part of new #Libya

President of the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) Dr. Abdalla Alnajjar met with the General Director of the Libyan National Agency for Scientific Research (NASR) Dr. Noureddine Al-Shammakhi in Tripoli on Monday to discuss handing start-up assistance to emerging scientific research companies. 
Dr. Alnajjar stressed the ASTF’s will to help Libya build a sustainable economy, whilst providing technical support and funding for research and innovative ideas. He added that institutions and private sector companies play a strategic and influential role in providing investment for scientific research in Libya.
Dr. Noureddine Al-Shammakhi of NASR  claimed there is a vision to transform Libya during the period 2020-2030, aiming to create an economic phenomena based on archetypes such as Singapore and South Korea. Dr. Shammakhi said Libya seeks to be at the forefront of the region in terms of scientific production, with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education.
6th National Conference on Biotechnology
Dr. Alnajjar and Vice President of ASTF Dr. Ghada M. Amer,  have participated in the 6th national conference on biotechnology in Misrata city.  The event was organized by the Biotechnology Research Center at the University of Misrata and the National Agency for Scientific Research (NASR).
The president thanked Dr. Nabil Al-Natah, director of the Biotechnology Research Center, Dr. Omar Al-Kawy, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee and Dr. Abdullah Khalil Al-Barkuli, for their vital role in making the conference a success.
The conference confirmed Libya’s state of rebuilding, while the scientific and research institutions continue to participate in the reconstruction efforts.
