Tripoli, 8,September, 2013:
The
unexplained withdrawal of Libya Shield peacekeepers appears, last
night, to have brought about a restart of fighting between Zawia and
Warshefana.
Reports suggest that the rupture of the week-long truce that had been brokered by elders on both sides, has not produced a repeat of the deadly consequences of the previous fighting, when at least six people were killed and dozens injured. As of this evening, despite bouts of heavy firing, there have been no reports of casualties.
“The reason behind the renewed clashes,” Zawia local council head Mohamed Khadrawi told the Libya Herald , “ was the sudden withdrawal of the Libya Shield Force, which is responsible for a cease-fire between the two sides”.
However, Khadrawi said that because both sides were “just shooting heavy weapons in the air for intimidation”, there had been no damage. They had later withdrawn from contact.
He added that there had been “several desperate attempts” by the government and the Congress to end the entire confrontation, so far without result.
A source from Defence Ministry speaking to the Libya Herald on condition of anonymity, said that for “security reasons” it was “quite difficult” to say why the Libya Shield Forces had been withdrawn.

تصفيات مونديال كأس العالم بالبرازيل العام المقبل. جاء ذلك بعد أن الحق
منتخب الكاميرون بالمنتخب الليبي هزيمة بهدف للا شئ في المباراة الحاسمة
التي جرت بينهما في ياوندي اليوم لتحديد صدارة المجموعة. واحرز هدف
الكاميرون أورليان تشيدجو في الدقيقة الثانية والأربعين من المباراة ليقضي
على آمال ليبيا في إكمال المشوار نحو البرازيل. وكان المنتخب الليبي لا

بأول صدمة بعد فشل المنتخب التونسي على أرضه وبين جماهيره في التاهل الى
الدور النهائي للتصفيات المؤهلة الى كأس العالم 2014 بالبرازيل، وذلك عقب
هزيمته أمام منتخب الرأس الأخضر بنتيجة (0-2).
احتدمت
الأزمة السياسية في ليبيا بين رئيس الحكومة الانتقالية الدكتور علي زيدان،
وحزب العدالة والبناء الذراع السياسية لجماعة الإخوان المسلمين، بسبب
الزيارة التي قام بها زيدان إلى القاهرة قبل يومين. وبدأ
أن هذه الأزمة وصلت إلى ذروتها، بعد مطالبة مفتي ليبيا، الشيخ الصادق
الغرياني، لرئيس الحكومة الانتقالية بالاستقالة بسبب فشله في أداء المهام
الموكلة إليه، ومن جانبه صعد زيدان من وتيرة انتقاداته الحادة واللاذعة
لجماعة الإخوان، واتهمها بمعاداته ومحاربته. وكان منتظرًا
أن يعقد حزب العدالة والبناء مساء أمس، مؤتمرًا صحفيًا للرد على تصريحات
زيدان، فيما قال مسئولون في الحزب لصحيفة "الشرق الأوسط" اللندنية اليوم
الأحد، إن هناك اتجاهًا قويًا لإعلان تجميد مشاركة الحزب في الحكومة،
وانسحابه منها خلال اجتماع سيعقده المكتب السياسي للحزب اليوم. ورفض
محمد صوان، رئيس الحزب، التعليق على هذه المعلومات، وقال: "إنه يفضل
الاتصال به في وقت لاحق، لافتًا إلى أن مصر جارة، ومحاذية لليبيا بحدود
طويلة ومرتبطة معها أمنًيا واقتصادًيا وثقافيا، بينما تعذر أمس الاتصال
ببشير سالم الكبتي المراقب العام لجماعة الإخوان المسلمين في ليبيا. وقال
زيدان: في مؤتمر صحفي عقده مساء أمس بمقر الحكومة في طرابلس عقب عودته من
القاهرة: "ذهابنا إلى مصر تقتضيه المصلحة الوطنية، فمصر جارة، وتحدنا بحدود
طويلة، وتربطنا بها مصالح مشتركة، وإن ما حدث في مصر يعد شأنًا داخليًا لن
نتدخل فيه بأي حال من الأحوال".
