Former Libyan Prime Minister, Professor Mustafa Abushagur has received a patent for a new invention.
Professor Abushagur designed a micro implant to be insert during eye surgery. The implant serves the purpose of optimizing eye pressure to the correct level.
In a phone call he said, “I hope this device plays a role in the relief and treatment of different eye diseases.”
This is Professor Abushagur’s third patent in the electrical engineering field. nanophotonics, plasmonics, photonic microsystems, adaptive signal processing, optical MEMS, optical computing, optical communications, optical interconnects and fiber sensors. He has published ninety-eight research papers, published a book on Fourier optics and has been invited to write five book chapters
