A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced
only 4018 Egyptians have been deported from Libya since the turn of
2013.
Amr Roshdy said the reason for the deportations is due to the high number of illegal workers holding fake work visas, health certificates. Some have even entered the country without any travel documents, including a passport.
The Foreign Ministry appeals to citizens working illegally in the country, to avoid any complications surrounding immigration. This could cause serious issues with health due to holding no insurance. If any Egyptian citizens want to work in Libya, it is important to undertake the correct procedures in order to receive a legitimate work permit.
The Egyptian embassy is responsible for the Egyptians residing in Libya, whether they are in the country legally, or illegally.
