Egypt's Sisi warns against foreign intervention in Libya

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said Egypt does not want Libya to fall prey to terrorism, urging support to the new Libyan parliament.

World Bulletin / News Desk
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday warned against foreign intervention in neighboring Libya, expressing support for the country's newly-elected parliament.
During a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal and intelligence chief Khaled bin Bandar, al-Sisi said Egypt was keen on Libya's political and security stability, according to a presidential statement.
He insisted that Egypt does not want Libya to fall prey to terrorism, urging support to the Libyan parliament, added the statement.
Al-Sisi also warned against the ramifications of foreign intervention in Libya, saying Egypt would not hesitate to defend its national security.
The North African, oil-rich state descended into turmoil soon after a popular uprising ended the autocracy of long-serving ruler Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
