(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The third meeting of the foreign ministers of Libya's neighboring countries called on all parties in Libya on Monday to adopt dialogue to resolve their disputes and maintain the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of their country.

In a joint statement after their two-day consultations moderated by Tunisian Foreign Minister Monji Hamdi in Hammamet city, northeast Tunisia, the conferees highlighted the significance of the contribution of the Arab and African neighbors to the efforts aiming to build consensus among the political forces in Libya and set the stage for a national roundtable.

They agreed to set up two teams led by Hamdi in collaboration with the two special envoys of the Arab League and the African Union to Libya.

One of the two teams, led by Algeria, will be tasked with addressing the security file, while the other, led by Egypt, will tackle the political aspect of the crisis, the statement said.

The two teams are scheduled to work out reports and submit them by the end of July to Hamdi who will, in turn, make a briefing on the situation in Libya at the coming foreign ministers' meeting, due in Egypt in early August.

A ministerial committee from the neighboring countries is expected to visit Libya soon to meet representatives of the interim government and the key players to encourage them to engage in the planned dialogue.

The conferees discussed the political, security and economic challenges faced by their countries due to the unrest in Libya, according to the statement.

They agreed to make joint efforts to combat terrorism and help stabilize Libya through national dialogue.

Besides Hamdi, the meeting gathered representatives of Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Niger and Sudan as well as envoys of the Arab League and the AU.

In a related development Spokesman of the French Foreign Ministry Romain Nadal denounced the recent armed confrontations in Tripoli, capital of Libya, and the attempts of gunmen to control the international airport.

France condemns unreservedly the use of force to achieve political gains, Nadal said in a press release, voicing concern over possible expansion of the conflict in other parts of Libya.

He called on the Libyans to be loyal to the principles of their revolution and engage in political dialogue to rebuild their institutions in a democratic and peaceful way.

The spokesman reaffirmed France's support to the democratic transition in Libya and to the work of the constituent assembly.
