Gabon and Libya will clash at the Peter Mokaba on Sunday afternoon with a place in the semifinals of the 2014 African Nations Championship at stake, kick-off at 5pm.
Both teams are so far unbeaten in the tournament as they went through the group phase unscathed.
The Gabonese started off the tournament with a goalless draw against Burundi, but they rallied back in their next two matches against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mauritania to win 1-0 and 4-2 respectively to book a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
They had left it very late in their match against Mauritania where they needed two late goals to ensure victory. The win took Gabon to seven points and put them through as Group D winners.
Gabon are making their second ever appearance in this tournament and have beaten their previous performance. In their debut competition in Sudan in 2011 they bowed out at the group stages. They then made their way to South Africa for this competition via a penalty shootout win over African football giants Cameroon in the qualifiers after the scores had been deadlocked on aggregate.
Gabon will be relying on the goal scoring exploits of Bonaventure Sokambi who has so far scored two goals for them at this tournament.
Libya qualified for the quarterfinals of the tournament when they finished as runners-up in Group C behind Ghana.
They started the tournament off with a resounding 2-0 win over Ethiopia and drew their second match of the tournament against Ghana.
They were facing an exit from competition when they trailed the DR Congo by 2-0 in their last group match with only 15 minutes left. But an equaliser deep into stoppage time saw them edge the Congolese by a point to make the last eight.
In the inaugural tournament in 2009, the Libyans finished at the bottom of their group with two points, but just like the Gabonese in their previous appearance they have made the knockout stages for the first time.

The North African outfit will pin their hopes on striker Abdelsalam Omar who has so far netted twice in this competition. The winner of this match will face either Nigeria or Morocco in the semifinals.
