Justice Minister Salah Marghani was subjected to an attempted
abduction on Friday during a funeral prayer at Martyrs Square,
Tripoli.
The funeral was for two martyrs who fought in the 1984 battle of Bab al-Aziziya, after their remains were discovered 29 years after their execution.
“They tried to sabotage the funeral when attempting to kidnap me”, Marghani said on his Facebook page.
Two police officers intervened allowed him to escape unscathed. He was escorted away in a police car.
