It is normal for Ministers to resign – #Zeidan #libya

By Sami Zaptia
Tripoli, 27 August 2013:
“It is normal for Ministers to resign”, said Prime Minister Ali Zeidan at Sunday’s press conference.
Referring to the resignations of both the Deputy Prime Minister Awad Barasi and the Minister of Interior Mohamed Sheikh, Zeidan said that some of their comments were incorrect.
With Mohamed Sheikh, Zeidan went further, and said that he was not up to the job of being a Minister –  even though he was a good man.
In Lebanon and Egypt Ministers resign every day and 15 members of the government resigned recently in Niger, Zeidan added, trying to depoliticize the resignations within his government.
“it is normal to resign these days”, Zeidan explained. “I do not blame them. It is an incinerator (being in government). Look at Juma Attaiga’s face”, Zeidan added, pointing to the former Deputy head of the GNC sitting next to him. “It has lit up since he resigned”, he said as all those present burst out in laughter.
“To me this job is a sacrifice. It is not the great job that everyone thinks it is. I do it for the sake of the nation. The government is not weak. It is the state that is weak. It needs time and the Libyan people are in a hurry”, he complained.
