Four unidentified gunmen attacked Libyan soldiers while
passing in a car on the outskirts of Benghazi on Tuesday afternoon,
causing clashes and the death of one of the attackers.
The three other attackers managed to flee with scene.
A spokesman for Benghazi’s Joint Security Room, Mohammed Hijazi, said in a statement to the Libyan News Agency, that one of the attackers was injured during clashes. After being taken to hospital, he died as a result of his injuries.
He went on to say the soldiers showed great courage and displayed a professional of weaponry. Although three escaped, the soldiers were unharmed.
An investigation is underway to find out the motive behind the attack.
