Report accuses Islamists of #Benghazi Thunberbolt attack

Libyan intelligence have submitted a report to the General National Congress, accusing Islamist extremists as being responsible for Saturday’s attack on the army headquarters leaving six members of the Thunderbolt Brigade dead, two of whom were slaughtered with knives.
When the report was addressed, the Congress are reported to have swiftly changed subject, claimed Abdel-Moneim, a member of the GNC.
“[Congress Second Deputy] President Saleh Makhzoum’s Congress immediately moved the to the conferences agenda after hearing this report without any comment or reference,” he said.
There was little surprise at the President’s conduct when the controversial report appeared, as it criticised the governments awareness of the current tensions seriousness.
An emergency meeting is reported to have taken place on Sunday with President Saleh Makhzoum and Major-General Salem Al-Gnaidy among others to discuss Benghazi’s security crisis.
In other news from the conference, the GNC postponed the election of a new President of Congress due to some members being present in Benghazi. It is unknown when the vote will take place.
