The Libya Shield forces have announced they are to withdraw
forces from the south eastern town of Kufra, and demanded the government
to send the Libyan army to protect the area in their replacement.
In a statement made by the group, emphasis was placed on their pending of the Libyan army’s establishment. They apologized to the people of Kufra on their withdrawal and leaving them in the hands of the national army, who they believe “abandoned their duty to protect the people during revolution, and abandoned the south of Libya and border protection after the liberation.”
The General Staff has sent military planes to Kufra on Sunday morning to begin their security duty, and replacement of the Libyan Shield forces.
