An Egyptian lawmaker was expelled from a lower house of parliament
session for wearing a blue sash labeled “a new president is needed.” The call for change by Abdulrahman Huraidi, who is part of the secularist leftist party, the Egyptian Popular Current, irked members of the Islamist Freedom and Justice Party (FJP).
As a result, FJP members approached him trying to strip the sash off him.
Following a parliament vote against his behavior, Huraidi was asked to leave the council session. However, heremoved his sash and insisted he wanted to stay.
Despite his change of act he was escorted out the Shura council.
