14 customers were rushed to hospital with poisoning after
eating a meal in a Benghazi restaurant due to the lack of health control
in the establishment.
Police have arrested eight migrant workers in connection to the incident who were all working in the restaurant, the police said in a statement. With the exception of one worker, none had legal papers to work in the country.
They added that the meat supplier for the restaurant have no health certificates or work permit for Libya. The investigation is still underway to establish the cause of poisoning after food samples were taken from the restaurant.
