Shankir said the corporation was investigating what lead to the incident
Tuesday evening.
Stressing that the investigations are still underway to determine the causes of the accident, Shankir explained – in a press statement on Wednesday, that the oil companies near the site of the explosion formed a crisis committee to manage operations.
He said that the institution had given permission Wednesday morning for the company to conduct maintenance work which is set to begin immediately and that a committee was formed of the National Oil Corporation, and the companies concerned to guard oil installations, and to investigate the causes of the accident, and will start its work as soon as they arrive to the scene.
