At ILO Meet #UN Expert Calls for #Libya to Follow Safety Regulations at Work

During the opening inaugural ceremony of International Labour Organisation (ILO) World Health & Safety Day on April 28, 2013 at Tajoura industrial research centre Prof Dr Satya P Bindra UN Expert, issued a wakeup call for New Libya to establish a road map for prevention of accidents and work related sickness in the country where suffering from psychological, mental and hypertension related disorders is on the increase.

He advocated the urgent need for adapting and adopting best practices in work places, reporting and diagnosing the silent epidemic killer widespread in the country.

He advocated the General National Council, GNC, to press for implementing truth and reconciliation, and UNESCO supported Aram Reduction Coalition Initiative sent by him along with a list of numerous initiatives in line with Rio+20 Libyan National Report by him which is published by UNCSD i.e. the Future We Want.

As per Prof. Bindra 21st century new democratic Libya can and must be a place of justice and dignity to all (Libyans and foreigners) with respect for international human rights through strengthened social dialogue, social protection measures and efforts to tackle youth unemployment.

Libya needs to follow good practices in the ILO report to identify cases of forced labour and to prevent the crime. He complimented the Minister of industry for his inaugural address that demonstrates that New Libya has the political will and is ready to take practical steps in partnership with ILO for the reduction of work related accidents and diseases with the goal of making it to zero.

Libya, in partnership with foreign government and companies must unite together with confidence, determination and strength to start rebuilding schools, hospitals, factories, workplaces, costing hundreds of billions of dollars that were destroyed during the previous egime and during the 2011 conflict.

Following the blockade of the Foreign Ministry earlier this week, Prof. Bindra urged the militiamen to follow non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi as a tool of the most power full for harmony.
