Salaries to be withheld for SSC members #libya

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) plans to withhold payment to Super Security Committees members (SSC) who have not finalised recruitment prerequisites to join the police force, among them the fit-to-work medical assessment.
The announcement posted on Saturday by MOI spokesman Magdi Al-Arafi on Facebook adds that a review of the employee database will be carried out to ensure that false names and non-Libyan nationals are not on the Ministry’s payroll.
In January, due to the high volume of applicants, the MOI had increased the number of training committees designated to receive members of the SSC looking to join the police. At that time, it was decided that payment would continued for those who had applied for training. However, this will now cease for applicants whose employment files are not complete and those not attending training.
According to Arafi’s statement, Laws No.10 of 1992 and No.12 of 2010 were being used to take action against those who failed to fulfill their training and work obligations. In particular, those who sought early and voluntary retirement, resignation, or referral to other civil service jobs, could use Law No. 10 favourably to retain rights granted by the labour law.
