Floodwaters rise in Jakarta, as residents wade neck-deep

Report by Sophie Foster

Heavy monsoon rains have triggered severe flooding in large swathes of the Indonesian capital Jakarta, with at least four people thought to have died.
Weather officials warned the rain could get worse over the next few days, with thousands of people in Jakarta already having been forced from their homes because of the torrential downpours this week.
In the centre of the city, whose streets overflow with vehicles at the best of times, traffic was brought to a near standstill by waist - and sometimes even neck-high - floodwaters.
The city's main airport remained open but many roads leading there were reportedly blocked. Most commuter train services and the bus system were closed.
