Russian divers, who live thousands of kilometres from the nearest sea, decided to celebrate Christmas in the local swimming pool.
The team from the city of Orenburg donned their diving gear and lowered everything they needed for a merry Christmas to the bottom of the pool.
There was a nicely decorated Christmas tree, some food, Christmas hats and even champagne.
To drink champagne underwater requires some skill, but that did not deter the Russians from drinking straight from the bottle while kneeling on the tiled floor of the pool.
