#libya Protesters block access to #Sabha airport after the abduction of their unit commander

Associates of the Alqatroon battalion blocked access to Sabha’s airport, to protest the kidnapping of the commander of the unit Alafi al- Mahdi.
The protesters said he was abducted three days ago while he was inside of a hotel in the capital Tripoli.
The spokesman for the battalion Ahmed Hassan said the protest would not stop, “until the government announces the fate of the commander of the unit.”
Hassan pointed out that the decision to block the airport came to protest the government’s disregard, and the Presidency of the Army Staff to the kidnapping of the commander of the unit.
Alafi al- Mahdi who is 60 years old, was a former prisoner of the Gaddafi regime, who has spent nearly 20 years in Abu Salim Prison, finally freed when rebels managed to liberate Tripoli on August 20, 2011.
