Libya has sent convoys carrying humanitarian aid to the
victims of flash floods in Sudan, where 300,000 people have been
affected by the natural disaster.
Libya’s aid was sent to express solidarity with their neighbours, and to promote relations since Sudan were one of the first supporters of the 2011 revolution.
Aid included food, blankets, medical supplies, tents, water suction pumps and other necessary materials.
Almost 50 people have been killed from the floods since the beginning of August, with many more missing including four peacekeepers in the Darfur region, the BBC reported.
The first flight from Libya carrying aid was sent on Sunday, with subsequent supplies arriving on Tuesday and Wednesday in an effort to reduce suffering in Sudan.
