Libya’s air force commander denied Chadian forces are within
the Libyan border, despite reports suggesting training camps are taking
place in the desert.
The military official denied all speculation in a press release on Saturday.
Two planes are securing the southern border to assure there is no one entering the country. The pilots said there was no evidence of Chadian military vehicles in the area.
The denial came after a member of the National Security Committee claimed the Chadian army are more than 100 miles inside the Libyan border, with no resistance being shown by the Libyan army due to their lacking presence.
In a statement made on Friday, the Committee said the incursion comes in addition to the presence of Chadian armed militias roaming the southern cities of Libya, who are funded by the Chadian government.
