Prime Minister Ali Zeidan claims oil installations, ports and
airports and other projects across Libya are sovereign areas of the
Libyan State, and no family or tribe has the legal right to claim
ownership.
Zidane said during a press conference on Sunday, “this is disrupting oil production because repeated protests are interfering with the foreign contractors. This causes the pay out of compensation, leading to Libyan income being affected.”
He pointed out that shutting down oil production or any other service is an arrestable offence. The government must fullfil their duty to protect these institutions from danger due to the proliferation of arms.
Zeidan called on Libyans to cooperate with the Government to prevent any potential damage. Stressing that the government has the authority to use measures to control security.
