An Algerian News newspaper quoted a source who claimed
Algeria avoided delivering the Gaddafi family members to the Libyan
authorities or Interpol, and suggested they should leave the country and
find asylum elsewhere to avoid any political embarrassment.
The Algerian newspaper said Interpol announced Aisha Gaddafi is wanted on charges of money laundering, forgery, smuggling of funds; charges mirroring her brother Hannibal Gaddafi, who is also wanted on charges of money laundering and fraud. The International Police, Interpol, have issued their Red Notice on the family.
The Algerian ambassador to Libya, Abdel-Hamid Bouzaher claimed the family had left “a long time ago” without giving further details. In November 2012, the family were reported to have left Algeria but these are the first official reports confirming the have fled Libya’s neighbouring country.
