BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Five Egyptian diplomats kidnapped in Tripoli have been freed, according to Libya's Deputy Foreign Minister. One of the diplomats was taken on Friday. The four others, including the cultural attaché, were taken from their homes in the Libyan capital on Saturday.
They were kidnapped in retaliation for Egypt’s arrest of a Libyan militia commander. The kidnapping forced Cairo to evacuate its embassy in Tripoli and its Benghazi consulate.
