Libya indepent_The prime
minister Ali Zeidan arrived in the Jordanian capital Amman this evening
accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Health, Higher
Education and Culture.
The objective of the visit, according to the government’s website, is to further strengthen ties, particularly political, economic, military and security, scientific and cultural.
Jordan is providing training to the Libyan police and army .
One issue on the agenda is expected to be Libya’s outstanding bill, estimated at $80 million, to private hospitals and hotels for treating and accommodating tens of thousands of Libyan war-wounded and their families after the revolution.
Jordan’s private health sector took more Libyan patients at the time than any other country. Jordan is also looking to become involved in Libyan healthcare development.
He will not be meeting with King Abdallah who has left for a visit to Oman with a number of Jordanian ministers.
Zeidan wil to fly back to Tripoli before heading to France for the France-Africa summit in Paris on Thursday.
Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Abdulaziz, who will also be attending the summit, is due to fly from Jordan to the Gulf for talks in a number of states before heading to Paris.
