Talks between Libya and Tunisia were held on Tuesday to
discuss cooperation between the neighbouring countries in various
fields.
Prime Minister Ali Zeidan met with Tunisian PM Ali Laarayedh focused on security ties between the two since the border has become under increased threat from terrorist activity.
In recent days, Tunisia has increased their security presence along the border to prevent extremist groups pouring into the country from Libya.
A number of officials including the Libyan Foreign and Defence Minister were among Zeidan’s entourage to Tunisia.
The talks with Tunisia follow a visit to Morocco for the Libyan government, where bilateral relations were discussed with Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane. Morocco are hoping to economically invest in Libya’s redevelopment and reconstruction.
Agreements were also struck across a number of different sectors including security, trade, transportation, communication, education and culture.
