Tripoli, 17 September 2013:
An officer from the Benghazi Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Imraja El-Uraibi, was killed this afternoon after a car-bomb blew apart his vehicle.
“El-Uraibi was immediately taken into intensive care but unfortunately his injuries were very severe,” Spokesman of Benghazi Joint Security Room Abdullah Zaidi told the Libya Herald.
Zaidi said that the incident took place this afternoon in front of the Post Office building in Benghazi’s Al-Salmani Al-Sharqi district.
Two vehicles in Benghazi were targeted yesterday with car-bombs but no-one was injured. Last week the Benghazi branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was seriously damaged when a massive car-bomb was detonated outside the building.
