Tripoli, 11 August 2013:
The main power station in Sirte was attacked early yesterday morning with a home-made ‘gelatina’ bomb.
The centrally-located power plant was damaged in the blast and at least 200 homes have been left without power, according to Libyan news agency LANA.
Sirte Local Council held an emergency meeting following the incident, bringing together the Council of Elders, members of the General National Congress (GNC) from Sirte and senior military personnel, to discuss monitoring and boosting security in the city.
