Speaking at last Wednesday’s press conference, Prime Minister Ali Zeidan said that Libya needed to renew its reputation with foreign states.
Zeidan said that many embassies had reduced their presence in Libya and that some had even considered closing down completely.
“We must regain their confidence”, he said. “Many see Libya as a state of fear, crime, and even terror where people cannot even walk the streets”, he explained.
Zeidan implied that this was an inaccurate picture and that Libya had to work at changing this image.
