#Saudi delegation to visit #Iraq to resolve detainee issue

Al Arabiya
A high-ranking Saudi delegation will visit Iraq to try to resolve the issue of Saudi detainees before the holy month of Ramadan, which this year starts in July.
Interior Ministry Under-Secretary Ahmad al-Salem will head the delegation, which will meet Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and parliament speaker Osama al-Nujaifi, al-Yawm reported.
The aim of the meeting “is to resolve the issue of the 60 Saudi detainees in Iraqi prisons” as per a prisoner-exchange agreement signed between the two countries, a well-informed source told the Saudi daily.
The delegation will also discuss the issue of four Saudi prisoners sentenced to execution, and allowing families to visit their detained relatives, the source said.
“There are major indications that the issue of Saudi and Iraqi detainees will be resolved,” the source added.
