KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — Kuwait on Sunday urged its
citizens to avoid Lebanon and those already there to leave "as soon as
possible" after two rockets hit a stronghold of Hezbollah in the capital
Beirut.
"Due to the unstable situation in Lebanon and the expected consequences... a foreign ministry official urged citizens to exercise caution and to abandon travel to Lebanon at present," the KUNA news agency cited an official statement as saying.
The foreign ministry also urged Kuwaitis already in Lebanon to leave "as soon as possible," the statement said.
The travel advisory came after two rockets hit Beirut's southern suburb wounding four people a day after Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah vowed to achieve victory in neighbouring Syria.
Hezbollah forces are battling alongside troops loyal to President Bashar Al-Assad as the regime confronts a more than two-year conflict seeking to topple it.
