The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has
condemned an attack on their headquarters, when an unknown group
terrorized staff and damaged company property last Thursday.
GECOL labelled the attack as undemocratic and illegal. In a statement received on Sunday, the company said, “we deeply regret the incident and such irresponsible behaviour.” The GECOL went on to say, “the use of weapons to shoot into the air was to protect the headquarters, and to maintain the continuity of power supply.”
The company asked protesters to respect the blood of those who gave their lives to build the Libya every citizen dreamed of.
