#French Foreign Minister condemns embassy attack in #Tripoli

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has announced Paris condemns the attack on the French embassy in Tripoli with the utmost severity, after two guards were injured during Tuesday morning’s attack.
“We will make all the means in connection with the Libyan authorities to shed full light on the circumstances of this heinous act, and catch  the perpetrators quickly.” Fabius also sent out wishes to the two recovering security guards.
The surrounding wall is destroyed, and the embassy has been severely damaged. several cars parked close by have also been destroyed, whilst windows shattered in surrounding buildings. Reports suggest the two-storey embassy has become unusable.
The explosion happened at 07:00 (05:00 GMT) in the Gargaresh area.
Diplomatic missions have been targeted in Libya, most notably an attack on the U.S. mission in the eastern city of Benghazi last September that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.
However, Tuesday’s attack is the first such serious assault on an embassy or foreign mission in the capital, Tripoli.
