A Libyan news station Saturday released video of a crew member being beaten by General National Congress security personal.
The male cameraman, working for Alaseema TV, can be seen being kicked by numerous men dressed in civilian clothing in the video.
The video quickly made it rounds on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.
The attack have put into light, the risks journalists face inside of Libya following the revolution.
In the video, a man is clearly heard yelling “Is this the way to treat journalists after the revolution? Journalists have immunity in other countries!”
Many other Libyan news outlets, including Libya Ahrar (Libya TV) have covered the video.
Protestors gathered at the headquarters late on Saturday calling for an investigation and greater rights for journalists.
GNC president Mohammed Magarief condemned the attack on Twitter, promising an investigation.
