Head of ID cards kidnapped from #Tripoli office

The director of the National Numbers Department in Tripoli was kidnapped in the early hours of Monday from his office in the Ras Hassan district.
Armed men are said to have taken Dr Naji Bazena, according to one witness. Police are yet to track his location and those who captured him.
The National Numbers Department were set to start releasing identity cards later this week. The concept arised in 2010 by Gaddafi, who’s initial idea would present green ID cards presenting the person’s biometric details such as DNA and blood groups.
Plans for the ID card were abandoned but resurrected again in the final months of the El-Kib government. The responsibility is now in the hands of the Prime Minister’s office.
